How to use our essential oils

TypeUsageBenefits
Direct Inhalation Inhale from the bottle, or put a few drops on a handkerchief. This method is good for supporting the respiratory system, sinus conditions, and for emotional support.
Bath Add up to 8 drops of essential oil or oil blend to your bath water. Essential Oils are absorbed through the nose and also through the skin and an aromatherapy bath combines both.
Chest Rub Prepare a blend of 10–20 drops of essential oil in 30ml of carrier oil and rub on the chest and upper back. Many essential oils i.e. Rosemary & Eucalyptus have a clearing effect and support the respiratory system.
Compress Use a clean, damp, folded cloth that has been infused with essential oils and apply to the problem area. A compress is for skin care and muscular tension, and can be either cold or warm, depending on the purpose.
Massage Dilute 10-20 drops of essential oil to 50ml of carrier oil. Massage relaxes the muscles and improves circulation and lymph flow, soothes physical tension and relieves mental stress.
Diffusers Use a few drops of essential oil or synergy blend in an aromatherapy diffuser. Aromatherapy diffusers refresh, purify and enhance moods.
Direct Application Apply directly to skin. Some essential oils such as Lavender, Rose Geranium and Tea Tree can be applied directly to the skin to soothe minor insect bites, scratches & burns.
Foot & Hand Bath Use 2-4 drops of essential oil in a bowl of water for a foot or hand bath. The value of foot baths has been recognised for hundreds of years because of their reflex points that affect every area of the body.
Gargle First thoroughly mix the essential oil in a teaspoon of honey, then dilute with warm water until the honey has dissolved. Gargle with a small amount and spit out. Use 1-2 drops per 30ml warm water.
Steam Inhalation Add 3 drops of essential oil to a bowl of steaming water, cover your head with a large towel, close your eyes, put your face about the water and inhale deeply. Repeat as required.
Mouthwash Add a few drops of an essential oil to a cup of water and swill around the mouth. The antiseptic & antibacterial properties of essential oils can be perfect for freshening the breath and maintaining healthy gums.
Scented Pillow 1 or 2 drops of oil on a pillow case or on a tissue placed inside the pillow case, is a wonderful way to enjoy the soothing and therapeutic effects of essential oils.
Perfume Create your own perfume by blending oils and applying to the pulse points.
Essential Oils are highly concentrated, so bear in mind that they require respect and basic understanding of their applications.
